What is the difference between delayed data and real-time broker data?

OptiView provides either 15-minute delayed market data or real-time broker data, depending on whether a brokerage account is connected. Delayed data is available to all users, while real-time data is provided by a connected broker.

Real-time broker data

  • Access real-time equity and options prices through a connected brokerage account
  • Availability depends on the broker’s market data subscriptions and entitlements
  • Used for live pricing when evaluating or preparing trades

15-minute delayed data

  • Access 15-minute delayed prices for U.S.-listed equities and options
  • Available without connecting a brokerage account
  • Suitable for options strategy analysis and payoff visualization

Limitations and data disclaimers

  • OptiView does not guarantee the completeness, accuracy, or timeliness of market data
  • Delayed data is intended for analysis and strategy evaluation, not precise trade execution
  • Real-time data availability depends entirely on broker-provided market data access
